Print-On-Demand (POD)
Traditional publishing houses not only retain publishing rights, but often require the author to print thousands of copies of their book, a huge out of pocket expense. At Halo, we realize that no two authors or books are alike; therefore, we designed a print-on-demand (POD) model to give our authors flexibility, both professionally and financially. Have a book signing, school visit, or library visit planned? No problem, our authors are able to order the quantities they need when they need them.

Hardcover
We also specialize in hardcover books with jackets which are available via Offset Print and POD. Our hardcover books come in a variety of sizes and paper stocks. While our most popular sizes for children’s and coffee table books are: 8.5 x 11, 8.5 x 8.5, and 11 x 8.5; we can accommodate any requirements.

Sleeves or book jackets are great because they not only serve to advertise your book, but protect your book while it’s on the bookshelf. All of our jackets are printed in full color and take advantage of the latest technology (foils, stamping, and liquid plastic coating) in order to enhance the color and design of your cover so that it jumps-off the page.

E-books
The idea of holding a book and turning the pages is a familiar feeling: however, e-technology is here to stay. By digitalizing your book it can become instantly available to a world-wide audience, presenting a new and exciting avenue for the independent author to explore. The e-format allows authors to not only set the price of their book (as low as .99), but Amazon offers up to 70 percent royalties!

Pagination
We prepare your book file in accordance with exact specifications for commercial, digital, and/or print-on-demand printer. We design the interior text, and format photos and illustrations that are supplied by the author.

Title search
A title search is important. You do not want to waste time, effort, and money promoting a book that already carries an identical title to a copyrighted work (titles alone are not copyrighted). HPI provides a complete title search BEFORE your book goes to press.

LCCN Registration
A Library of Congress Control (catalog card) Number is a unique identification number that the Library of Congress assigns to the biographic record created for each book in its cataloged collections. HPI registers your book for you and obtains your Library of Congress number.

Ingram National Distribution
Your book will be prominently featured on HPI’s Website. Your book will also be available through Ingram on such mega-sites as Amazon, Barnes and Noble, B. Dalton, Bowker Books, and more. Altogether, your book will be available to be ordered at over 40,000 wholesalers, retailers, and booksellers in over 100 countries, and will be ready for shipment from any of these sites within 12 hours or less.

Personal Pages
We will incorporate your dedication, about the author, about the book and copyright pages.

Barcode
We provide your book with a barcode for retail stores; the code includes the price and ISBN of your book.

Review PDF proof
We provide one free online PDF proof of your book for you to review. We also provide one free round of corrections.

Cover Design
Our in-house Graphic Design Team will design the front and the back cover for you.

ISBN
The International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is a 13-digit number that uniquely identifies books and book-like products published internationally. HPI obtains your ISBN for you.

Printed Proof
Each client is sent a printed proof of their book to review. The proof shows the actual size of each author’s book and how the book will look in print.
